Class Descriptions

The Bankside Health Club are committed to delivering the very best group exercise class timetable in Southwark. With over 45 classes per week ranging from yoga and pilates through to high energy classes, such as, Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Attack and even boxing. We have the whole spectrum covered.

Ashtanga Yoga

Practicing the alignment of movement and breath, a method which turns static yoga postures into a dynamic flow. Throughout this class you'll be taken through a series of movements that will allow you to progress into more challenging classes.

Body Attack

This high-energy interval training class is great for strength, stamina, endurance, will burn calories rapidly and improve fitness along with a full body cardio workout.

Body Pump

A weight endurance training class to choreographed music. Helps to tone, define and strengthen all major muscle groups, using barbells and adjustable weights.

Boot Camp

Sculpt your body & burn fat faster with an indoor, action packed boot camp.

Body Fit

This contact boxing class in the ring is based around circuit training and pad work. Improves co-ordination and above all power!

Dynamic Yoga

Combines fitness training with stress release. The flowing sequences are carried out in conjunction with dynamic breathing creating a deep heat in the body which enables you to build up strength, flexibility, stamina, concentration and alertness.

Military Fitness

A fun military style circuit based workout with an instructor who will help you push your way to your fitness goals. Be prepared to sweat buckets and burn lots of calories!

Pilates

A tranquil controlled mind and body class concentrating on developing core strength and improving posture and breathing techniques.

Power Circuit

Variation galore! Circuit classes use a variety of floor exercises and free weights to increase stamina, strength and cardiovascular fitness. Let the instructor take you on a different exercise journey each week! Participants can vary the intensity to suit their fitness level and needs.

Running Club

Aimed at the intermediate runner, this will cater for all aspects of training to enable both endurance & speed.

Spin

Indoor cycling program for all levels. Qualified cycling instructors will lead you through a journey, designed to provide a fun yet challenging workout!

Spin Circuit

Push yourself to a different level. 20 minute spin followed by a 20 minute circuit giving you the ultimate body blast.

Step It Up

Using a height-adjustable step this class has great choreography to make simple movements on and around the step, easy to follow. Fantastic for co-ordination & fat loss!

Strike Out

Kick and punch your way to fitness with this high energy class using freestanding bags and a motivational instructor to put you through your paces.

Ultimate Abs

Designed to focus on specific core strength. Vital to any exercise regime, giving you great inner strength & outer definition.

Vinyasa Level 2

This class is open to participants who are experienced in Yoga practice and are familiar with the postures and their alignment. This is challenging if you practice other forms of physical, strength and endurance, along with encouraging mental control.

Zumba Fitness

Zumba Fitness fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness programme that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavour and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba!

 


Booking Procedures

  • Class reservations can be made by calling 0207 921 9343
  • Class reservations can be made 24 hours before the class start time.
  • Please arrive with enough time to get changed and be ready for the start of your class.
  • All participants must wear a wrist band provided by reception as proof of booking.
  • Whilst we endeavour to offer the classes advertised, the club reserves the right to change or cancel classes without notice.

Monday-Thursday 6.30am - 10.00pm
Friday 6.30am - 9.00pm
Saturday + Sunday 8.00am - 5.00pm
Bank Holidays Closed

Please note all facilities within the Club will close approximately 30 minutes before the listed closing time to allow sufficient time for members and guests to shower and change prior to closing.
