FAQ's

The vast majority of our members are new to gym membership. Naturally if you are looking at these pages you will have some questions. Here we hope to cover off some of those more frequently asked, but if there are any questions you still have please do not hesitate to contact us here at the club and we will be happy to provide you with the answer.

1. Do I have to be a member to use the gym?

Basically the answer to this one is yes. The reason for that is it is important to us to ensure that we have addressed your exercise needs and requirements and also that you are able to use all the equipment safely and efficiently. Having said that we have a range of flexible options for membership. Contact our membership team to discuss your specific requirements.

2. How much does membership cost?

We have a wide range of membership options designed to meet our members differing needs. The tarriff's vary dependant upon such factors as; membership type, agreement length, additional clubs or services required or indeed whether it is an individual or group membership. By far the easiest way to find out the best match for your needs is to pop in to the club or call one of our membership advisors today. To give you a guide however, an average membership price is around £50 per month.

3. Is there a joining fee?

There is a joining fee. The actual amount of this depends on the package that you join under. We currently have the following four options; a Just Join option, a Lifestyle Starter Pack, a Personal Training Starter Pack and a Power Plate Course option.

4. What happens when I join?

When you join we will ask you to fill out a pre-exercise questionnaire, this enables us to ensure there are no reasons why you shouldn't be embarking on an exercise programme. We will then book in your first session. If you have been a member before you can choose the option of our "Fast-track" programme. This essentially is a short session where we make sure that we can answer any questions that you may have, show you any equipment you may be unfamiliar with etc. For those new to exercise we suggest our full service. In your first session we will take some base line tests, ascertain exactly what you want to achieve and your preferred timescale. We will also show you how to use the exercise equipment. From there we will devise you an exercise programme that will give you the best possible chance of achieving your fitness goals.

5. Will I be tied into a contract?

As mentioned in answer to question one, we have a variety of membership options available. Most of our members realise that joining our club is about lifestyle change, after all if your desire is to get fit or lose weight you're not going to stop exercising when you achieve this, you are going to continue to exercise to maintain your new fitter lifestyle. So we do offer a 12 month agreement which is our best value membership. Alternatively we do understand that sometimes it is difficult to commit due to possible changes in your life, to that end we also offer flexible membership options.

6. What happens if I am injured and cannot use the gym for a while?

As mentioned we do have flexible membership options available. If you have chosen one of our 12 month agreement membership options you will still have the opportunity to freeze your membership for certain periods. Ask one of our membership team for details on this when you visit the club.

7. What happens if I get bored of my original programme?

Part of our job is to ensure you have the most effective programme for meeting your personal needs. This is not simply about the type and frequency of the exercise but also about how well you get on with it. If you are not enjoying exercise you will not keep up with the programme. We will spend a lot of time at the start of your membership ensuring that your programme is just right. Once we are satisfied that you are satisfied we then look to revisit your programme every 6 - 8 weeks to a) assess the changes that have occurred to your body and b) to move your programme up to the next level. There are always staff on hand on the gym floor should you ever need any additional help or advice and you will quickly find out that we employ our staff not just on the basis of being highly qualified but also because they are approachable, friendly and most of all because they care about our members.
