We know that there are many questions that people have when considering joining a Health Club. With our many years experience we have listed the answers to some of the more common questions below.
Do I have to be a member to use the gym?
We have a whole range of options available to you that range from a one off visit to a class through to unlimited access to all the Club's facilities via a full membership. Contact our membership team to discuss your specific requirements or see the Pay As You Go classes page on our site to review thos options.
Is there a joining fee?
There is a joining fee. The actual amount of this depends on the package that you join under. We currently have the option of a Lfestyle starter pack which is ideal if you are new to fitness or looking to take your training to a different level due to an event, rehab or somthing similar. Or, we have a standard starter pack which includes all the essentials that you need to get the most out of your membership.
What type of Full Memberships do you have?
Full peak access to The Bankside Health Club including over 90 classes per week.
Full peak access to The Bankside Health Club including over 90 classes per week, a towel service as well as peak access to our sister Clubs.
All the benefits of Gold membership and added bonus of unlimited Power Plate sessions included with over 150 classes per week.
Will the length of my commitment make a difference to the subscription?
Most of our members realise that joining a quality Club like ours is about a lifestyle change and not just using a facility. They are generally happy to commit to a fixed term agreement, after all once you get fit you're not going to stop exercising when you achieve your goal are you? Naturally we reward this commitment with a reduction on subscription. Alternatively, we do understand that sometimes it is difficult due to life constraints to commit so we do also offer flexible membership terms. To give you an idea, the standard monthly membership fee will be in the region of £50 per month.
What happens when I join?
When you join we will ask you to fill out a pre-exercise questionnaire, this enables us to ensure there are no reasons why you shouldn't be embarking on an exercise programme. We will then book in your first session. You can choose from a "New- Track” or "Fast –track” programme. A "Fast-Track” essentially is a short session where we make sure that we can answer any questions that you may have, show you any equipment you may be unfamiliar with etc. For those new to exercise then we’d suggest a "New-Track” which is our full service. In your first session we will take some base line tests, ascertain exactly what you want to achieve and your preferred timescale. We will also show you how to use the exercise equipment. From there we will devise you an exercise programme that will give you the best possible chance of achieving your fitness goals.
What happens if I am injured or cannot use the gym for a while?
If you have chosen either our flexi or fixed term agreement membership options you will have the opportunity to freeze your membership for certain periods. Ask one of our membership team for details on this when you visit the club.
What happens if I get bored of my original programme?
Part of our job is to ensure you have the most effective programme for meeting your personal needs. This is not simply about the type and frequency of the exercise but also about how well you get on with it. If you are not enjoying exercise you will not keep up with the programme. We will spend a lot of time at the start of your membership ensuring that your programme is just right. Once we are satisfied that you are satisfied we then look to revisit your programme every 6 - 8 weeks to a) assess the changes that have occurred to your body and b) to move your programme up to the next level. There are always staff on hand on the gym floor should you ever need any additional help or advice and you will quickly find out that we employ our staff not just on the basis of being highly qualified but also because they are approachable, friendly and most of all because they care about our members.
Do you offer an Off-Peak Membership?
