Specialist Courses
The Bankside Health Club is the perfect place to take your training to the next level with one of our specialist courses. Courses are available to everyone from absolute beginners to the more advanced trainer. There's lots of variety to choose from, including course in Capoeira, Belly Dancing, Kettlebells, Kick Boxing, Pregnancy Yoga, Savate, Ballet, Tango through to Boxing. Capoeira
This is a Brazilian art form that combines exciting martial arts, music and dance. Capoeira will help build confidence and provide a positive focus. Our classes are designed for complete beginners through to complete capoeinstas.
The course costs £30 and runs for 4 weeks choose from classes on Wednesdays at 7.30pm or Thursdays at 8.00pm, for more information please visit www.capoeira-agora.com
Belly Dancing
Belly dancing arose from various dancing styles and really embraces female form. This class is fun and will help to tone your mid section, along with making you feel sexy while achieving an all-round workout. It will teach you to trust your body and your instinct, taught by professional dancer Claudia Yasmina, this class will add an interesting and social aspect to your training.

Kettlebells
Kettlebell or Girya is a cast iron weight resembling a cannonball with a handle. Classes use ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. There is no better way to burn fat than with a few high rep sets using the kettlebell. This class will work your body as one unit and require a great deal of hard work. The harder you work the more calories you burn.
Courses cost £40 for five sessions.

Kickboxing
Kick boxing is one of the best and fastest ways to build great levels of fitness. This class will work your whole body and build your skill level. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced fighter, drop in to one of the two great sessions on offer and train with the Bankside Health Clubs very own Christian Thompson, World Champion and Gold medallist kick boxer.
Classes cost £15 or purchase a block of 8 classes for £80.00.

Pregnancy Yoga
In pregnancy the body changes and it is important to adapt your training accordingly. This class is perfect for mums to be, the class a great way to maintain a strong body during pregnancy. Keep fit and healthy with a balanced pre-natal class focussing on strength, length, breath work and relaxation.
Classes are low impact, holistic and come with many health benefits. Mums to be should be at least 14 weeks into pregnancy. Classes cost £10 per session

Savate
Savate , also known as French boxing. French kickboxing or French foot fighting; it is a French martial art which uses the hands and feet as weapons combining elements of western boxing with graceful kicking techniques. These classes are elegant and demand skill and self control; all these elements can be leant under the instruction of James Southwood a National Savate trainer.

Tango
Tango is an improvised dance from Buenos Aires and its concept is an eclectic but compelling combination of culture, music, romance and energy. Don't go expecting Strictly Come Dancing, do expect to come away wanting to do more! In the classes the classic elements are covered to provide a solid base of Tango know-how for dancing in the Milongas (Tango clubs) keep coming every week to build up your practice and technique.

Boxing with Fight Fit

Ballet
Ballet Fit 5 Week Course - Improve your posture, muscle tone and core strength during this
5-week step-by-step ballet course.
Ballet is a combination of muscle work and cardiovascular movement, a great way to get your body toned and in shape.

Booking Procedures
- Clients wishing to register for any of the above courses should contact the Instructor listed on the drop down for each course.
- Payments for the course are to be paid directly to the Instructor. Clients unable to attend will be expected to give 24 hours notice directly to the Instructor.
- Please arrive with enough time to get changed and be ready for the start of your class.
- Whilst we endeavour to offer the courses advertised, the club reserves the right to change courses without notice.
